about

In a moment of melancholy, Superlative reverts back to his raw approach on rapping. Speaking out loud about reflective thoughts, both Superlative and Karis Jade emit a vulnerable, yet strong-willed energy. The instrumental translates the feeling of mixed emotions; with it's upbeat groove from the drums, to the reversed violin sample and sympathetic chord progression.

"I just wanna say that this song means so much to me. It symbolises strength amongst my family members, and I just want to big up my sister Karis. I'm so proud of how far you have come" - Superlative

lyrics

Stop
Me if you think that you can take that pressure
Setting levels
Paper driven
And that's my only blessing.
Hope has risen
Shown the vision is but reality
With meaning and value
I spit this wisdom
Open to these steady bets
But risky ones will evidently
Get us where the pennies rest
Truth be told I'd spend when I get it
Watch those twenties step
Not because I'm senseless
But we never know how manys left
Days are numbered
Wonder Why
I Used say I wanted this
But now I'm older
Life has give me confidence
The complications a burden
But now I know what longing is

But now I know what longing is
Failure isn't an option
But making it is obvious
My sisters talented
Kinda lacks the drive but she's arrogant.
Brothers a genius, but his wisdom makes him arrogant
older sister I miss her, but similar she's arrogant
I guess it's thanks to Sharon
I'm no different, Look I'm arrogant

Approach
Me if you think this an accident
back on track of things
But my delivery is passionate
People laughed
When I said I would spit bout what is happening
But now they ask me how I get the visions
That I'm capturing
Live it like the balance on my side
when I get challenged
Now I'm open if it happens to be value to my status
Now it's overly apparent when I rap
They look embarrassed
Only facts I can recite
Because I actually live what happens
Ohhhh

This vibe I feel be motivating
No setbacks this time
I'm bout to show my Mom I've got this
I can do this life
That's why
I'm trying
I'm tryna get up no excuses
Trying to convince myself I can do this
Trying to show myself I'm in control
Trying to show you that I wanna go
I wanna go far away
I wanna make it today
I wanna stack up my pay
I wanna give to my Mom what she gave
Just to make sure we were safe

about

Superlative Bolton, UK

Coming out of Bolton, Superlative is a fine example of an
artist ahead of his time. If you appreciate the bounce and complexity of modern trap-inspired
beats but never fell out of love with that golden-age hip-hop production style, then you’ve
been missing out on Superlative. His raw, eager flow and relatable bars create an aura of
humility and honesty around his outputs.
